Vegan Ground Meat (Soya Chunks)

This vegan ground meat can be added to many dishes as a healthy yet tasty meat alternative. It resembles meat in both taste and texture.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Dried Soya Chunks
  • Water for soaking
  • 1 cup Red Onion chopped
  • 1 cup Roma Tomatoes chopped
  • 5 cloves Garlic whole
  • 1 tsp Italian Dried Herbs
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • ½ tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Soak soya chunks in water for 10 minutes or until soft. Then squeeze the water out of them, as you would a sponge.
  • In a food processor add soya chunks, onion, tomato, garlic, Italian dried herbs, smoked paprika, soy sauce and salt. Blend until it resembles uncooked ground chicken.
  • Heat a medium size pan over medium heat. Add oil and the mixture and cover with a lid for 2 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low-medium and let simmer for 25 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Notes

Note: Sprinkle water if the mixture sticks to the pan.
